Videography with Jim Davey
Join us as we welcome Middle Bucks Institute of Technology’s M. Ed., Multimedia Technology James Davey who will help us begin to understand the basics of videography. A possible agenda includes:
- Basic equipment DSLR versus prosumer video gear and a few audio suggestions
- What makes a good video: Light Sound Picture
- Camera skills: stability, continuity, coverage / interview and b-roll
- You should already know about aesthetics and placing subjects as well as backgrounds and poles sticking out of a head. Perhaps —problem solving — clothing —mic issues— etc)
- Shotgun versus lavalier microphones
- Lighting: continuous versus grip lighting
- Talking about (4) types of editing and some suggestions for software and process. I’ll give this some thought, although it could be an entire session on its own.
